Boy of the Attic

I was immediately hooked to Arnold right from the first try. I setup this scene from downloaded models and began lighting. Arnold is super simplified. You don't have to waste time adjusting countless sliders under countless nodes. Few handful of controls and incredibly easy render settings makes it fun to work with Arnold.

RenderMan RIS

RenderMan is Awesome!!

This is the first time I have tried Pixar's RenderMan RIS. This is simply the best render engine I have ever used till now. No loads of complex shaders, confusing nodes or crazy lights. RenderMan gives the best and the simplest tools which are surprisingly responsive. The quality of output is unmatched. I am going to dig deeper.

Ferrari 458 Italia

This scene took me one whole week. I was shuffling through my wallpaper collection and this photograph immediately caught my attention. The sun reflecting  It seemed pretty challenging to me, so I decided to make it in 3D.
I knew it was not going to be easy to composite this one, but I ended up with pretty good results.

Here is the breakdown.

Metro Skyline

METRO SKYLINE

I started this personal project to learn lighting and shading in V-Ray. This is the first time I have used render passes (Render Elements). Rendering took a lot of time and I was not completely satisfied with it. But thanx to render passes, I was able to save this scene in Photoshop.
The project took 16 days to complete (from concept development to final render).

Softwares used: Autodesk Maya, V-Ray 2.4, Photoshop

THE LIBRARY

THE LIBRARY

This is actually a come back project. I was cut-off from the CG Industry for a while and decided to make this project to recall and practice my skills.
Every thing is modeled and textured in Maya. All the texture maps were created in Photoshop (thanks to cgtextures.com). Lighting, shading and rendering is done in Mental Ray. The project took 10 days to complete.
Hope you like it.
